KLEINERVONWIESE galerie 2025

Die letzten KvW-Galerieräume am Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin-Mitte sind mit Ende der Corona-Krise 2022 zurück gegeben worden, die Galerie KLEINERVONWIESE hat in tiefstem Shutdown 2021 eine internationale Gruppenausstellung mit dem Titel “Points of Resistance” in der Berliner Zionskirche mit initiiert, die trotz Corona-Krise völlig legal 3000 Besucher hatte.

In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Förderverein der Zionskirche und MOMENTUM haben in der Berliner Zionskirche bis heute 6 Kunstaktionen und Ausstellungen stattgefunden. Die Ausstellungsreihe “Points of Resistance” / www.points-of-resistance.org wird fortgeführt, sowie die aktuellen Restaurierungs-Arbeiten in der Kirche beendet sind.
Eine dieser Kunstaktionen im Rahmen der Reihe “Points of Resistance” ist der “Lastenbär”. Dabei handelt es sich im Zusammenhang mit einer Skulptur des Berliner Bildhauers Stefan Rinck um eine gesellschaftliche Debatte um das Demokratieverständnis in Bezug auf die dauerhafte Gestaltungsmöglichkeit des öffentlichen Raumes.
Unserer Ansicht nach müssen Kunstwerke, die durch bürgerschaftliches Engagement in den öffentlichen Raum gelangt sind und sich spontan einer großen Anhängerschaft erfreuen, das gleiche Recht auf dauerhaften und d.h. “zeichenhaften” Verbleib erhalten wie Skulpturen, die als von Verwaltung und Politik initiierte Zeichen den öffentlichen Raum besetzen und aus gremienbasierten Procederes hervorgegangen sind.
In diesem Zusammenhang wird aktuell von KvW das Projekt “Lastenbär” an der Berliner Zionskirche unterstützt.

The last KvW gallery spaces at Checkpoint Charly were returned at the end of the Corona crisis in 2022, the KLEINERVONWIESE gallery co-initiated an international group exhibition entitled ‘Points of Resistance’ in Berlin's Zionskirche during the deepest shutdown in 2021, which had 3000 visitors despite the Corona crisis, and in cooperation with the Förderverein der Zionskirche and MOMENTUM, 6 art events and exhibitions have taken place in Berlin's Zionskirche to date. The exhibition series ‘Points of Resistance’ / www.points-of-resistance.org will be continued as soon as the current restoration work in the church is completed. One of these art actions as part of the ‘Points of Resistance’ series is the ‘Lastenbär’. In connection with a sculpture by the Berlin sculptor Stefan Rinck, this is a social debate about the understanding of democracy in relation to the permanent design of public space. In our view, works of art that have entered the public space through civic engagement and spontaneously enjoy a large following must be given the same right to remain permanently, i.e. ‘symbolically’, as sculptures that occupy the public space as symbols initiated by administration and politics and that have emerged from committee-based procedures. In this context, KvW is currently supporting the ‘Lastenbär’ project at the Zion Church in Berlin.
